Pavlyuchenko Score Against Arsenal And You Are A Hero

Russian International Roman Pavlyuchenko might just have arrived at Tottenham Hotspur, but the striker has been made fully aware of what will make him a hero at White Hart Lane by his Spurs team-mates, score against North London rivals Arsenal.
26-year-old Pavlyuchenko signed for Spurs for £14million from Spartak Moscow this summer, after catching the eye of Tottenham boss Juande Ramos with his performances in EURO 2008, Ramos also tried to sign his Russian strike-partner Andrei Arshavin.
Pavlyuchenko has revealed that his new team-mates at Spurs have wasted no time in telling the striker how to become an instant idol to the faithful at White Hart Lane, and that is to score against Arsene Wenger’s Gunners.
The Russian said: “At the Spurs camp they put it like this to me — score against Arsenal and you are a hero.”
Given that Tottenham have only beaten Arsenal once in their last 22 meetings. The Russian’s ability to score against Spurs’ bitter rivals will be crucial, and should he score the winning goal at the Emirates Stadium, Pavlyuchenko would certainly become a hero, with Tottenham not tasting victory on Arsenal soil since 1993.
