Manchester United and Arsenal both in the hunt for German international

While Manchester City are making waves with their summer spending once again, two other Premier League title contenders are looking for cut-priced bargains in their quest to strengthen their respective squads ahead of the new campaign.

Step forward Mesut Ozil, one of the outstanding performers for Germany during the 2010 World Cup. Indeed, the Werder Bremen midfielder might not have even featured in South Africa if Michael Ballack hadn’t got injured during the FA Cup final, although it’s now thought he could be available for around £10 million.

That’s a price tag which would be to the liking of both Arsenal and Manchester United, with the latter in particular need of a creative midfielder that help carve chances for Messrs Rooney, Berbatov, Owen and Hernandez. It could prove to be one of the bargains of the summer, but which team will get their hands on this exciting player?
