Barnet v Arsenal – Match Preview

Arsenal play their first game of pre season tomorrow against one of our partner clubs, Barnet. Arsenal v Barnet has been the first game of pre season for many years now, and always marks off the start of the new season. It is a match where the score doesn’t matter and Wenger tries out new tactics hoping their isn’t an injury. Injuries are always the biggest fear in pre season, hardly a season goes by without their being an injury in pre season, and this year it won’t be any different because Denilson already picked up an injury. Anyways, here is the 22 man squad.

Goalkeepers: Almunia, Fabianski

Defenders: Djourou, Vermaelen, Koscielny, Nordtveit, Miquel, Gibbs, Traore

Midfielders: Barazite, Eastmond, Frimpong, Emmanuel-Thomas, Henderson, Lansbury, Rosicky, Wilshere, Nasri

Forwards: Arshavin, Eduardo, Chamakh, Walcott

Wenger would probably put in the big guns in the first half and sub them all off in the second for the reserves. It is good to see our upcoming talents getting a chance to play in front of many people so lets hope they do well.

Predicted Starting XI

Almunia

Lansbury Koscielny Vermaelen Traore

Rosicky Nasri Wilshere

Walcott Chamakh Arshavin

Predicted score- Arsenal 3-1 Barnet ( Chamakh, Arshavin, Barazite)

I’m expecting Arsenal to come out 3-1 winners in this match, with Chamakh, Arshavin, and Barazite scoring the goals. Barnet will get a goal in the second half while Fabianski is in-goal. Overall, Arsenal will have an easy game.
