Arsenal manager Arsene Wenger revealed there is luckily nothing serious about the injury of striker Nicklas Bendtner.
Speaking to the club’s official website yesterday, the Frenchman explained that the player was going to be assessed at the end of the day, confirming it’s a problem with his groin but also adding how it is not as serious as initially feared.
Earlier this week, the 22-year was quoted as saying how he is extremely worried about the condition of his injury, saying how he is in pain and how there are mornings where he can hardly get out of bed.
The news about the Dane’s fitness level will be a further boost to the Gunners, who have striker Robin van Persie showing positive things in the World Cup and also new-signing Marouane Chamakh who has already started training with the rest of his team mates.
On Bendtner, Wenger said:
We have an assessment with him on Thursday. It is a groin problem and we see where we go from there.
We need to check it to see if we have to do something. But no, it is not a big problem.
