Arsenal’s Bischoff Reveals Progress

Arsenal’s summer-signing Amaury Bischoff has revealed his progress from an injury and has expressed confidence that he will train with the first-team in two weeks’ time.
The Portuguese Under-21 international midfielder moved to the Emirates Stadium from Werder Bremen earlier in the summer when he was still nursing a groin problem. As such, Gunners boss Arsène Wenger had termed the move as “a gamble on his talent”.
Bischoff, 21, told Arsenal TV Online: “The injury is getting better bit by bit. I've been doing ball work for five or six days now and I am running three times a week. I'm nearly pain-free and hope to be back as soon as possible.

“It's been difficult. I've been injured for a long time but Arsenal have shown faith in me. They have got me in great shape and been brilliant. They monitor me with a daily programme and a trainer is there for me every day. I think that little by little I'm getting there and will soon be back on the pitch.
“I think that in two weeks I'll be training with the team and if all goes well, I'll speak with the manager and coaches here. Then I'll be back as quickly as possible.”

Real Madrid target Huntelaar or Aron Lennon to replace Robinho

Real Madrid has let Robinho go to Man City without having a replacement to move into the team, so they are now drawing up a shortlist of targets to prepare for the January transfer window.

According to the Spanish sports journal AS, the Ajax striker Klaas-Jan Huntelaar is the favourite to arrive at the Bernabeau in January, now that the Spanish giants have 40 million euros to spend from the sale of Robinho.

Huntelar will cost around €25million euros, but he is expected to be lined up as the natural successor to Ruud Van Nistelroy, who, although he is still a great goalscorer, is now 32 years old and his body may not be able to take the strain as in previous years.

For a real attacker/winger to replace Robinho, there are not too many choices available and it is said that Aaron Lennon could be the perfect choice. He needs to gain a little stregth, but with the massive array of midfielders at White Hart Lane, it is possible that Lennon may be surplus to requirements by January.

One thing is for sure. Madrid will be splashing the cash in January.

Could Appiah be Arsenal experienced midfielder

The Fenerbahce midfielder, Stephen Appiah, who was made a free agent by Fenerbahce a few weeks ago, is reported to be close to agreeing to sign on at Arsenal team, after Arsene Wenger failed to find his necessary "experienced midfielder" during the transfer window.It seemed that the vastly experienced Ghana legend was going to move to West Ham, but Alan Curbishley's resignation yesterday has put the deal on the backburner.The Telegraph reports that talks are ongoing with Arsenal, and they say that Appiah welcomes Wenger's interest, but the player could only say: "There are contracts, there are talks – I can't say anything yet. I am not going to put people off, my agents are talking so I have nothing else to say." He also said: "My dream is to play in the Premier League and with the help of God, I will realise that dream." So maybe West Ham will lose out, but you can see Wenger's attraction for the deal. No transfer fee!
