Marouane Chamakh and Laurent Koscielny in 22-man squad for Barnet friendly

Arsenal have announced the 22-man squad for Saturday’s 15:00 friendly match against Barnet which includes new signings Marouane Chamakh and Laurent Koscielny.

It will be Arsenal’s first pre-season friendly which will also feature Andrey Arshavin, Theo Walcott, Tomas Rosicky, Jack Wilshere, Eduardo and back-from-injury Johan Djourou. They will be joined by young prospects Nacer Barazite, Emmanuel Frimpong, Henri Lansbury and other youngsters looking to impress.

Also looking to send a strong signal ahead of next season will be goalkeepers Manual Almunia and Lukasz Fabianski, who were far from convincing last season and about to be replaced according to reports.

The Gunners will be back in action on Wednesday when they face SK Sturm Graz of Austria and again on July the 27th when they play SC Neusiedl 1919, who play in the Austrian Regional League East.

The going will get tougher for Arsene Wenger’s men towards the end of the month when they will be in action in this summer’s Emirates Cup which will feature A.C. Milan and Celtic, who the Gunners met last year in the Champions League qualifiers. By then, the Frenchman will have more players available such as Cesc Fabregas and Robin van Persie.
