Barcelona's battle for Arsenal's Cesc Fabregas takes a new twist

Barcelona president Joan Laporta last night claimed Arsenal will "give in" and sell Cesc Fabregas.

Barcelona have already had a £30m bid for Fabregas turned down and Laporta admits that it is unlikely any deal will be completed before he stands down on June 30.

But Laporta is convinced that his successor, Sandro Rosell, will be able to persuade Arsenal to sell with Barcelona believed to be ready to make an increased bid.

Laporta said: "Arsenal will end up giving in, but I don't know when that will be. We will have to wait and let the professionals who are taking care of it do their work.
